A number of prominent vloggers say YouTube is restricting LGBT+ content – a claim that has prompted mass liberal hysteria via the hashtag #YouTubeIsOverParty, which is currently trending on Twitter.
According to a Change.org petition on the topic, “recently YouTube has added a ‘Restricted Mode’ disabling YouTube viewers to discover videos covering LGBTQ+ related topics and is hiding them from the feed on their platform.”
The petition offers these two screenshots as an example of the censorship.
The petition calls for YouTube to “remove LGBTQ+ videos from the restricted mode.”
It has amassed 500+ signatures so far.
According to Heavy, YouTube has stressed the ‘Restricted Mode’ is optional.
“You can use Restricted Mode to help screen out potentially objectionable content that you may prefer not to see or don’t want others in your family to see on YouTube,” says YouTube.
The company goes on to warn, “due to potential cultural sensitivities, the quality may vary.”
Subsequently, thousands of hysterical Twitter users have taken to the site to voice their displeasure.

Youtube is supposed to be a place where people can express who they are without judgement. A place for equality. #YouTubeIsOverParty

The problem with #YouTubeIsOverParty Is like electing a Nazi like Trump you allowed them too much power. Your options are limited.

Others are seeing the irony in the situation.
Let me guess, YouTube put age restrictions on a video about "the joys of fisting" and so liberals are freaking out? #YouTubeIsOverParty

LGBTQs make videos about sex, then cry "censorship" when they're age restricted, hence #YouTubeIsOverParty is trending. What lunatics.

Every video of mine is blocked on "restricted mode".
But y'all only care about YouTube censorship when it affects you. #YouTubeIsOverParty

Some users referenced the PragerU controversy in which YouTube came under fire for restricting Judeo-Christian videos on the channel.
