College Republicans at UCI to Host Milo Yiannopoulos After Politicon Drops Him From Lineup Following Criticism

Following backlash from Leftists on social media after Yiannopoulos announced his slated appearance at Politicon 2018, the right-wing convention has opted to drop him rather than defend its position and stand for conservative values. The College Republicans at UCI (CRUCI) stand in solidarity with Milo Yiannopoulos for the political purge of his event from Politicon 2018, and in response will be hosting him at the UCI campus around the same time as Politicon to show support for freedom of speech.

“Milo Yiannopoulos may be controversial, but he excites and inspires young conservatives to stand up to the entrenched leftist institutions that dominate their daily routines. We’ve already seen with other conservatives – such as Alex Jones – that our country’s so-called ‘bipartisan’ institutions have been infiltrated by the left, and the only way we can fight to stop them is through unadulterated conservative activism. Where Politicon was too intimidated to brave criticism, we will embrace it and show others what we stand for,” said Kimo Gandall, President of the College Republicans at UCI.

“Politicon courted me not for months, but years, asking me to headline its traveling circus,” said Yiannopoulos. “When they couldn’t find a single liberal brave enough to debate me, they dumped me in favor of ‘safer’ (more easily bearable) conservatives but promised I’d be given headline billing at the main conference and a major keynote on the Saturday. Now we know that was a lie. They told the press before me they were dumping me — what pricks! — and this is after they wrote begging us to bring merchandise to sell.

I’m glad there are some College Republicans brave enough to host the speakers people actually want to hear. UC Irvine is becoming a second home to me, and I can’t wait to rain down merry mischief on campus.”
