An illegal immigrant has been arrested on charges of murdering missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, according to police. Tibbetts disappeared on July 18. According to police, Cristhian Rivera, 24, was charged Tuesday for her murder in Poweshiek County after being brought in by cops.
Tibbetts was found dead on Aug. 21. The 20 year old’s body was discovered near a rural farm property near her town of Brookyn, Iowa. She was reported missing on July 19 when she didn’t show up for her job at a local day care center.
Rivera told cops he saw Tibbetts running on July 18, circled around multiple times in his car, and then abducted her.
