DERANGED: Waffle House Shooter Believed Taylor Swift Was Stalking Him

Travis Reinking, the 29-year-old man who shot dead four people and injured several others at the Waffle House in Antioch, Nashville believed that musician and singer Taylor Swift was stalking his every move.

He remains at large.

Reinking’s family revealed to FBI investigators today that the mentally ill man suffered from “delusions” and had previously attempted suicide. Family members stated that he believed Taylor Swift was stalking and harassing him in his Illinois hometown of Morton. He revealed to his family that he believed Swift hacked into his phone and Netflix account, according to the New York Daily News.

Reinking had previous run-ins with the police in Illinois before moving to Nashville, having previously climbed to the top of a building roof while claiming to be chasing the pop singer. His family believed he was suicidal at the time.

WKRN reports that in the incident, Reinking told police that Swift was stalking him and wanted to meet him at a nearby Dairy Queen. He claims that after he went there, Swift yelled at him from across the street and ran, prompting him to give chase “in an attempt to get her to stop harassing him.” He followed her to the top of a building roof.

He had one run-in with the police in Washington DC in July 2017 when he attempted to scale the White House fence to “meet” President Trump. His firearm license was revoked following the incident, but his father, who was responsible for confiscating his weapons, gave them back to him. Under Illinois law, Reinking was prohibited from possessing guns.

Police in Tennessee have since acknowledged Reinking’s history of mental illness but did not disclose a motive for the mass shooting.
