As Dennis Prager and other prominent voices gear up to sue YouTube for censorship, tensions between conservative media and Silicon Valley are on the rise.
Wednesday afternoon Steven Crowder, a popular conservative comedian, was suspended from Twitter for seven days following a video he posted on YouTube and shared on the social media site. The video was titled “HIDDEN CAM: Internet Crashes LGBTQ SxSW Meetup!”
The video was removed from YouTube shortly after being uploaded. Initially Crowder was suspended from Twitter for 12 hours before the sentence was extended to seven days.
According to Crowder’s website, the problem with the video was that the word “faggot” could be heard in the recording, Crowder’s partner in crime NotGayJared bleeped out the offending content and re-uploaded the video back to Youtube and shared it on Twitter. This caused him to also be suspended from the platform.
The intern involved with the video, who is a contributor to Crowder’s show on CRTV, was also suspended from the platform.
A hashtag, #FreeCrowder, immediately began spreading on Twitter by prominent conservatives and their followers.
Twitter has suspended known Alt-Right extremist Steven Crowder. Wait, what? Crowder? Yes, Crowder. He’s locked out for a week over a parody video. This is beyond a joke now. Censorship of conservatives MUST be addressed by lawmakers. #FreeCrowder https://t.co/MDKOPCRjTM

Twitter started the year off by removing verified checkmarks from journalist Laura Loomer and British independence activist Tommy Robinson. An alleged ‘bot purge’ in February from the company let scores of conservatives locked out of their accounts.
Late last year, Republican political strategist Roger Stone was permanently banned from the site. He is now building an anti-trust lawsuit against the social media monopoly.
Recent undercover footage from Project Veritas showed senior level Twitter employees admitting to looking at user’s nude DMs and targeting conservatives for censorship.
