JURY: Female Prison Worker Used Convicted Murderer as a ‘Sex Slave’

A San Quentin inmate has won $65,000 in damages after claiming a female prison worker used him as a “sex slave.”

The Independent reports William Cordoba, 57, who is serving a life sentence for robbery and second degree murder, claimed Silvia Pulido started sexually abusing him after she hired him as a clerk.

In court documents, Cordoba claimed Pulido started flirting with him by saying “Get closer, I don’t bite.”

Cordoba said the two first had sex in May 2010 after she put her hand over his on a computer mouse and said, “Here, let me help you do this faster.”

Pulido, who was hired as a janitorial vocational instructor, then changed the locks on her office to prevent anyone disrupting their jailhouse sexual escapades, the report claims.

Pulido had promised to help pay for a lawyer to work on Cordoba’s case.

When Cordoba tried to remove himself from the abusive situation, Pulido took revenge by accusing him of harassment. He said he spent nine months in solitary confinement because of it.

Following a six day trial in Oakland, a jury awarded Cordoba $15,414 or harm and $50,000  in punitive damages.

Speaking to the New York Daily News, Julia Allen, Cordoba’s lawyer, said, “All people have the right to be free from sexual abuse.”

“That doesn’t change just because a person is incarcerated.”
