Kim Kardashian got hair braids and Twitter is not having it.
The 37-year-old television star is being blasted with accusations of cultural appropriation.
Just another day in clown world.
The meltdown happened when Kardashian shared a picture on Snapchat showing her new silver cornrows and calling them her “Bo Derek” braids, referring to an actor’s hairstyle from the 1979 film 10, to which people immediately reacted negatively.
Kardashian, who is famous for being famous, then ignited the fury of the recreational outrage mob by posting a picture of her new hair on Twitter:

She was met with an unhappy response. Twitter users accused Kardashian of culturally appropriating the braided hairstyle from black culture:
first of all this look is NOT for her and second, when is the Kardashian family going to stop appropriating black culture lmao

Kim ….these braids did not start and end with Bo Derek ….they originated from African culture pic.twitter.com/RQY8RTH6fX

See white people love black culture but hate black people

Kim Kardashian got on Fulani braids and called them “Bo Derek” braids. These why culture appropriation trash. Also, how many times is that family gonna get dragged for them to stop appropriating other people’s culture. This why Beyonce don’t like her stiff lips ass. pic.twitter.com/Nd2NHt7aOB

She thinks that by saying her inspiration is Bo Derek, then it isn’t appropriation.
Yuck. She’s so urgh.

Some even called her a ‘culture vulture.’
They are called Fulani braids or some may even say corn rows. You could of called them either one but you called them "Bo derek" giving credit to a white woman for a black style knowing you already catch heat for culture vulturing. #KimKardashian #culturalvul pic.twitter.com/aIF4NzJ9rw

The only thing I see here is a culture vulture and one of her minions. pic.twitter.com/KGSxUL3LUr

#KimKardashian is a bitch ass culture vulture. She doesn't want Black problems but will do anything she can to copy/look like a Black woman. I feel bad for her BLACK daughters.

Bizarrely, Lindsay Lohan commented upon the hairstyle change saying that she was “confused” by the new look, because changing a hairstyle is the equivalent of a Rubix cube. Surprisingly, Kardashian responded to Lohan, saying, “You know what’s confusing…your sudden foreign accent.”

Some users did come to Kardashian’s defense:
first of all to all u hypocritical black bitches….. IF KIM KARDASHIAN WEST WANNA WEAR BRAIDS, THEN LET THE BITCH WEAR BRAIDS 🗣🗣🗣 nobody getting on ur ass about wearing 30 inch brazilian, indian, malaysian, or peruvian deep wave hair that DONT belong to u exactly so STFU

Girl Bo Derek wore these braids in 1979, so technically she’s not wrong. That’s just the reference she chose. pic.twitter.com/vMw0yR2Q2H

Conservative transgendered YouTuber Blaire White also spoke out in defense of Kardashian.

And stop making me defend Kim Kardashian, thanks. pic.twitter.com/FtQFmVGROv

As did conservative journalist Jack Posobiec.
The cultural Marxists will never stop until they’ve destroyed everything https://t.co/d9rgLkd0aE

And, not one to back down from a bit of drama, Kardashian herself gave a message to the haters.
Hi, can I get zero fucks please, thanks pic.twitter.com/svo3tewQC8

The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding may be found in a figurine known at the Venus of Willendorf, a small female figure estimated to be around 30,000 years old, discovered in Lower Austria and depicted with either braided hair or some sort of woven basket on her head.
Ancient Greeks, Babylonians, and Egyptians have also been depicted with braided hair.
And you thought you’ve had bad hair days.
