A black media arts professor who berated her white colleagues for embodying “white supremacy” is the latest professor to resign from Evergreen State College.
Naima Lowe tendered her resignation on December 6. Her resignation comes in the wake of racial tensions at the college, which boiled over when professor Bret Weinstein expressed his objections to an administrative decision to ask white people to leave the campus for a “Day of Absence.”
During that time, other white students complained of severe anti-white racism on campus by self-proclaimed “social justice warriors.”
In September, professor Bret Weinstein and his wife Heather Heying filed a $3.85 million tort claim in July against the school for failing to “protect its employees from provocative and corrosive verbal and written hostility based on race, as well as threats of physical violence.”
Both Weinstein and Heyer were threatened by Evergreen students on and off-campus. Some students even formed “social justice militias,” armed with bats and makeshift weapons to patrol campus grounds for suspected white supremacists. Weinstein and his wife reached a $500,000 settlement with the school.
As noted by Campus Reform, the letter by Evergreen provost Jennifer Drake announcing Lowe’s resignation also praised Lowe for her work teaching “feminist and queer theory, race, and decolonial studies.”
Lowe, who calls herself a “black queer artist” taught art and filmmaking classes at the school. She fell under the public eye after video footage of her screaming at two white members of the school’s Equity Council went viral on social media.
In the confrontation, Lowe scolded the two white members in front of a small crowd of students, for handling the Weinstein situation poorly.
“You are now these motherfuckers that we’re pushing against,” she barked. “You can’t see your way out of your own ass.”
Naima Lowe is a racist and a Social Justice Warrior fanatic. She constantly demands special treatment for blacks, while attacking professors and students for being white. She also called for the kidnapping of the wife of professor Bret Weinstein, for the crime of opposing a Day of Absence when white students and professors were pressured to stay away from campus.
In an earlier video dating to 2015, Lowe condemned white gay men at the Capital City Pride festival in Olympia, Washington.
“White supremacy lives and breathes within every single white person standing here right now,” yelled Lowe. “I refuse to shut my mouth and let white people set this agenda.”
Naima Lowe has targeted professor Bret Weinstein in many ways, declared that he is a racist at faculty meetings, and told him that defending himself is improper and that it makes him a racist all the more. Here is some footage from a 2015 protest where she denounces white people and gay men.
Lowe claimed that “the white gays, the white middle class assimilationist motherfucking gays, took over the [gay] movement with their assimilationist goals.”
Lowe, who was on personal leave since the beginning of the school year, claims that her absence was because of “online attacks on her (that) have multiplied through the summer,” according to a letter she sent to the faculty in September, the Olympian reports.
School spokesman Zach Powers says Lowe’s resignation was a condition of a settlement she reached with the college. She will receive $240,000, which includes payment for her final wages and attorney fees, as part of a settlement for a tort claim she filed against the school for discrimination and a hostile work environment.
