Sadiq Khan Compares Trump To ISIS during Labour Party Conference

Sadiq Khan compared Trump’s language to that of Islamic State’s, and said that it would be wrong to host President Trump on a state visit due to his “ignorant” views on Muslims.

Sadiq Khan made it clear he has taken offense to the proposed ‘Muslim ban’ President Trump put forward during his campaign, however Trump said he would make an exception for Sadiq Khan. Khan criticized Trump at the Guardian Live event at the Labour party conference in Brighton.

“My view was firstly ‘I’m not exceptional’ and secondly ‘Think about what you are saying.’ Because what you are saying is not dissimilar to what Daesh or so-called IS says.

“They say that there is a clash of civilisations, it is not possible to be a Muslim and a westerner, and the west hates us. And you are inadvertently playing their game, you are helping them.”

Khan called himself a ‘reluctant participant’ in his spat with President Trump despite him throwing jabs Trump before he was even a candidate.Khan went on to say later on in the evening that he thought that President Trump’s planned state visit is wrong.

Khan went on to say later on in the evening that he thought that President Trump’s planned state visit is “wrong.”

This is not the first time Khan has voiced his objection to Trump’s visit. Khan called for Trump’s visit to be canceled after Trump criticized him on Twitter after the London Bridge terrorist attack. Trump accused Khan of making a “pathetic excuse” for his “no reason to be alarmed” statement.

“I don’t think we should roll out the red carpet to the president of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for,”

“When you have a special relationship it is no different from when you have got a close mate. You stand with them in times of adversity but you call them out when they are wrong. There are many things about which Donald Trump is wrong.”

President Trump’s state visit to England is still going ahead.

Don’t worry being attacked by terrorists is a normal parcel of life in big city. Trump is ISIS and dangerous!!

You do know that’s not what he said. He said that dividing people is what ISIS wants. It allows ISIS to recruit Muslims who feel the west hates them. He then went on to say that Trump appears to be targeting all Muslims, thus feeding ISIS.
I believe this assessment is correct, which is why the language is so important. Is it that all Muslims are bad? If not, how do you put a circle around the bad Muslims? The media have frequently defended all Muslims and failed to adequately partition the good from the bad Muslims. This is a significant problem. It makes the bad Muslims look good and the good Muslims look bad.

LOL. yeah, dividing people is what ISIS want. Let’s unite in one place so that it will be easier to be attacked. But don’t worry, it’s an expected event, a price you should pay living in the big city. Nobody ever believes in the narratives all Muslim is bad. Just the extremes trying to pitch people fight against one another. But recognizing terrorists for what and who they are is NOT division, It’s the fact.

Nobody is defending terrorists or ISIS, thankfully. I’ve been appalled that the media defended antifa (and I expressed my disgust as the media’s defence and encouragement of violence, especially the punch a nazi garbage).
There are Muslims in the U.K. It would be highly unethical to ask them to leave. Everyone in the U.K. has the same rights. It’s unfortunate that most of the terrorists are now from the UK. We had a long problem with Irish terrorism in the U.K. too.
It’s a complex problem. Isolating an entire group will not make things better. Donald Trump (inadvertently or otherwise) has created a perception of being anti Muslim (see my quote above).

Nobody defends terrorists, but nobody dares to denounce it either in the past 8 years for fear of offending…well. you know how it goes. Don’t call them terrorists because it will glorify them,..what bullsh*t !!

Also, Trump did not target all Muslim. He tried to prevent the movement of the suspected elements. You should get your fact straight. How many attacks had been going in London? How many suspected terrorists had been freely travelling back and forth into England? How many attacks have been here in the US since Mr. Trump is in office? Factual events don’t lie.

          September 25, 2017 at 4:48 pm

You’re right, facts don’t lie. I’ll quote exactly what Donald Trump said. Search the words and watch the video. “Donald J Trump is calling for a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the United States”. The guardian hosts that video and that is his exact statement, word for word, including the “Donald J Trump”

Now, I have solid evidence to justify “…Trump appears to be targeting all Muslims…”.

Now, if you had your ideal world, you may be able to ban any Muslims from entering the US. It’s beyond that stage (unless you do what the English did and ethnically cleansed England on Danes, as an example).

You either recognise all people have the right to be assumed innocent until guilty, or you can make generalisations. If you’re even on the end of unfounded accusations of guilt before innocence, you may see things differently.

You don’t know the Guardian is the extreme left media? I was an extreme left so let me tell you one thing, the extreme left loves to play the compassionate game, all the while who dies who lives they don’t care. All they care about is expanding their support base. I was an immigrant and as a rule of thumb, most if not all immigrants become DEM. But to say Trump banned all Muslims is a lie. I saw the video and interpreted the way it is. Besides those countries were already on the banned list from the Obama administration, and the Guardian glorified it. It just shows I won’t trust the extreme arm length media left or right. Both extremes pitches people to fight with one another for their own agenda.

Your key word here is “Trump appears to be targeting all Muslims”…appear doesn’t mean definitely. He didn’t band all Muslims from entering this country, his list of banned countries have been the same list during the Obama administration. Did you fact check that?

What is wrong with banning or suspending visas of people from non-secular, Muslim countries whose government, religious leaders and majority of the population support or turn a blind-eye to acts of terrorism? Just to be clear, when one person in the U.S. obtains citizenship and a green card, they are able to import double-digits of family members and Muslims have very large families. I find it ridiculous that many of these “asylum seekers” travel back and forth to the very country they are trying to “escape.” The Boston Marathon bombers are perfect examples. Why should we just allow anybody in on a student visa who lies, overstays their visa and commits the most violent and deadly attack in our nation’s history just because we want to be politically correct? And yeah those countries are not on the ban list blah blah.
Why shouldn’t a country and its citizens demand better from those immigrating and being fully supported financially…for years by those very citizens? What is so wrong about requiring those to get their attitude, cultural norms and house in order before being conferred a precious right of citizenship? It’s no longer about being proven guilty or innocent.

See if I’m understanding this issue: if bad Muslims are the ones that do not follow the quran then that could be good or bad depending on which way they don’t follow it. The good Muslims who faithfully follows the quran must be bad because it orders them to do bad stuff. Cutting good body parts off is not a good thing and is something only a inhuman human would dream up.
        Sounds hocky to me so:
You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out,
You put your right hand in,
And you shake it all about,

        You do the hokey pokey
        and you turn yourself around
        That what it’s all about.

Um, Khan, what does IS have to do with Muslims? Are you saying there’s some overlap?

And would you say that you can or cannot be part of IS and be a Westerner? Are THOSE things incompatible?

    • Rusty Esq

      September 25, 2017 at 4:31 pm

ISIS is from a region of the world that is predominantly Muslim. Who do they recruit, Muslims. How? They look for disenfranchised Muslims who believe the west hates them.
      Yes. There is overlap.
You can be a part of the west and ISIS, but I’d prefer that they were not.
I’ll give you a parallel. English soccer thugs (read up on them, they’re violent people). Are they English? Yes. Are they capable of extreme violence against an innocent victim? Yes. Can hey be citizens of the UK? Yes. Do I want them to be citizens of the UK? No.
I like your questions. This is what people need to do.
ISIS suck. Not even the media likes ISIS (but they showed a liking for antifa). There is an overlap, just like there’s an overlap between the English and extremely violent soccer hooligans.
Read up a few stories about soccer hooligans one day. Some English thugs hospitalised an Italian guy (a coma, I think) for the hell of it.

London is a great city, but they elected an ignorant and incompetent mayor. These people voted him hoping to give their city a perception of being “Muslim friendly” and will not be a target with Islamic terrorism…EPIC FAIL.

Radical Islam is a mental illness, you are with them or against them, and if you with them and you screw up and you’re screwed twice.
