Professional comic creators organize group to discuss stalking and assaulting former marine critic at convention.

Comics have a long tradition in American entertainment. Generations of children and adults share a cultural touchstone with characters like Captain America, Spider-Man, the X-Men, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. There is a reason many customers remain loyal despite companies which (contrary to logic in a capitalist society) regularly demean and insult them.

For the medium to evolve is only natural. However, like the gaming community before it comics have become positively infested with regressives who delight in tearing apart American icons while alienating fans with propaganda and abuse. They’re corrupt, they’re bleeding cash, and they are thoroughly unpleasant.

On September 18th in a private, heavily politicized facebook group for comic professionals the following exchange took place:

Online, the target of this group veteran Richard Meyer goes by Diversity & Comics (D&C), a youtube channel where he critiques the Marxist drivel currently overwhelming the medium. D&C caught wind of the activities of this facebook group on September 21st, when he made a video of his own in response where audiences can read the exchange.

Members of the group who actively endorsed violence and stalking toward D&C include writers B. Clay Moore and Taylor Esposito. Following the conversation, on September 20th Eisner Award-winning writer Mark Waid posted the following on his own public facebook:

In fairness to Waid, he was open about making a lengthy edit (which I recommend reading for transparency’s sake) during his attempt to backpedal and appear less threatening. However, by then a very interesting array of voices had already chimed in for the comments section. Among these were senior editor Tom Brevoort as well as IDW, Marvel, and DC Comics writer Magdalene Frances, whose real name is Magdalene “Bedbugs” Visaggio.

Brevoort went a little like this:

Keep in mind that as senior editor, Brevoort is Mark Waid’s boss. By asking Waid specifically what the plan was, he implied that Waid himself is the ringleader.

Bedbugs had the following exchange:

For the normal people among us who might miss the terminology, “cis” refers to anyone who is not transgender. Bedbugs is effectively the new, less hygienic Brianna Wu.

Bedbugs also has a habit of engaging in lengthy rants:

Of course liking incitement of violence against police officers on twitter wasn’t enough, so Bedbugs stole a gay man’s tweet to pretend it was her idea in the first place:

Waid though, Waid is very interesting. Our award winner has done his very best to take the moral high ground against that mean, nasty critic who dared object to cultural Marxism.

Just look at how he defended innocent industry professionals from accusations of pedophilia by GamerGate bullies!

Far from ancient history, these tweets come from January 8th of this year.

But who was under fire in the comic industry around January 8th, 2017? Oh, I remember. There was Gerard Jones, who was arrested after being caught with more than 600 files of child pornography. It was reported by Michael Bodley of SFGate on the precise same day as Waid’s tweet.

Isn’t that a funny coincidence!

Waid’s own work for Marvel features stunning scenes like this one from Champions #2 (ongoing and targeted at teens):

If readers are uncertain regarding the size difference given the Hulk’s anatomical oddities, here’s some perspective:

Readers, of course, can make of this what they will.

Now. You may be wondering, why is it that this ragtag bunch of misfits would target D&C specifically? There are plenty of people unhappy about the current state of comic books, and many of them criticizing the regressive agenda. Although comic editors Heather Antos (Marvel) and Susan Auġér (Freelance) both doxed D&C for the crime of daring to laugh at Antos on the internet, there is a bigger reason comic professionals want to intimidate and silence him.

On September 11th and 12th of this year, IDW writer Aubrey Sitterson stirred a fair amount of controversy with the following tweets:

D&C, partly due to this incident and partly over some remarkably gay artwork Sitterson encouraged for popular children’s toy-based title G.I. Joe, called for Sitterson to be fired in a September 12th youtube video. As a fan and a critic expressing frustration mind you, not as a professional. Fast forward to September 14th, when several articles went up in rapid succession from supposedly unrelated comic journalism websites including The Outhousers, The Mary Sue, and Bleeding Cool all leaping to defend Sitterson.

And D&C not only noticed, he dared to make a video talking about how the whole thing smelled suspiciously of collusion.

There is blood in the water, and the comic industry knows it. This is just one facet of the culture war being waged against regressive propaganda in our media. The side of Diversity & Comics is winning. And that absolutely terrifies the establishment professionals of the far-Left.

The ProgLeft really does need to be culled. Civilization is being held back, and even falling apart from the wasted energy spent on these miserable sacks of dog####. They’re worthless. Even the homeless guy living in the park could be put tonwork, but these people can never be anythung but a net minus.

They obsess about trivial speech slights while completely missing the big picture that the left once provided and pondered (however poorly). To Meyer, this seemed like a silly storm in a teacup:

I spoke to Richard C. Meyer, who told me:

“I wasn’t intimidated by these people. I noticed in multiple videos a week or two ago that I was not going to go to Baltimore because I was going to New York Comic Con which is just 4 blocks from my house. And also the cost of trains in America is prohibitive.

‘Captain Cummings, a YouTuber, negotiated all of us to talk in Google Hangout but that there were technical difficulties so we’ve tabled it toward next week sometime.

      ‘Although I didn’t like the way that Mark Waid made the allegations, we did seem to talk like gentlemen and it seems like everything cooled down. Additionally I asked for people to give specific complaints and I can address those. For instance, a prominent creator at DC asked me to stop using two of the favorite tongue-in-cheek catch phrases I use frequently on my channel and I agreed to do that;

‘Additionally as a message of good faith and to allay Waid’s fears that I would misrepresent him I offered to not discuss him in any videos or record anything that he said not that I would have in the first place. So my channel is going to kind of oddly not be discussing him either even while I discuss things that are related to what he said.’

You see, in the wild, removal of predators may seem like a comfortable option to human beings. Like removing frogs, or wolves. But then, the funny little queer animals you’re protecting start to drastically increase their population beyond normal levels. The deer start to eat too much, and over-breed. The flies in the bog or pond, a breeding ground for malaria riddled mosquitos, starts to abound in disease and putrid stink.

CTRL-Left is terrified about blood in the water. They have heard the reports of their older generations who actually had to deal with what’s coming. The ideological ocean safe-space lagoon they have had the government make for them has a barrier to the larger, more hostile, outside ocean water. There are much, much bigger predators out there. Of various kinds, sizes, and level of intelligence.

Those terrifying monsters of the logical deep are enroute. And the little fishies are getting apprehensive.

So, what’s changed? Way back in the 1970s when I was involved in comics fandom, babyish bickering between people whose job as adults was creating comics for kids (and adults who’d yet to grow up emotionally/mentally) was commonplace.

Understandable, given that these guys (gal creators were almost non-existent at Marvel or DC back then) were writing stories about massively powered superbeings punching, zapping, kicking or otherwise crapping out each other, but hardly anyone ever died (or even bled) and sex was out of the question.

    James Delingpole put it politely:

‘Basically, it’s a load of depressive wank produced by sad blokes stuck in arrested adolescence with dodgy left-wing politics to match, who are too petulant and self-regarding to follow the conventions of naturalistic storytelling, and with an understanding of human psychology about as sophisticated as Kevin the teenager’s.’ [Spectator; 11 June, 2016]

This guy, RIchard Meyer, was a marine in Iraq and has seen some of the most horrendous things people can do to each other. Real people. He’s seen terrible suffering, poverty, tragedy, terrorism, torture, killings and destruction on a scale beyond the imaginations of most of these cosseted crybaby illiberals. Here they are decrying him as if he’s some supervillain; when the worst he seems to have done is basically ridicule, insult and offend some creators feelings, ffs! By criticising their work.

I watch D & C almost daily at the moment and find the guy hilarious, especially his accents and mocking of what is written in the vast majority of Marvel comics currently.

In one of his latest videos he talks about how his criticisms boil down to him radically wanting them to make more money by making better comics. Marvel in its current form is almost unrecognizable and D & C’s critique of them is very on point.

Riddle me this: How come the European and Latin American comic book creators seem much more well adjusted? I never hear of social justice or the corrupting both the languages or the characters to sermonize about cispatriarchical fallocentric civilization. They’re mostly fun to read

The Mary Sue is not a comic journalism website… it’s an uber feminist site, part of the Mediaite family, with a comic style header… I stopped going there years ago after repeated admonishments to stop trolling, ie, offering an opposing viewpoint, by both moderators and commentors… but not before I told them all to FOH…

but there is a timely article there today: DC Comics Is Receiving an Award for Their Depiction of LGBTQIA Characters, but There’s Still a Lot of Work to Do… Milo doesn’t allow links but it’s easy enough to find…

indeed, where to begin with this one?…

first of all, this abbreviation, formerly LGB and then LGBT, was already redundant and now it’s just getting silly… lesbians and queers are already gay, and I know bisexuals often consider themselves gay… but I can’t say queer out the context of this stupid abbreviation because that is homophobic… I suppose a transgender can theoretically be gay or straight depending upon which gender they are attracted to, so that should narrow it down to G… because isn’t the idea of transgenderism supposed to be a realization of being male or female, and not its own gender?… and what in the hell, now, is I and A for?… nevermind, surely even more initials are soon to come…

next, I’m pleased to learn that the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Entertainment Network exists… finally, a resource for all Americans!… but shouldn’t they be called the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Straight, Intersex and Asexual (I Googled the I and the A) Network?……

this year their Visionary Award is going to DC, for their “commitment to showcasing diverse storylines”… as though Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern are all exactly the same with the writers and artists just doing cut & paste jobs… it’s no wonder that Marvel is kicking their ass in Hollywood… you can’t get much more diverse than a wolverine, a spider and a roided up green dude… but try telling this to Kaila Hale-Stern of The Mary Sue… in one paragraph she’s lauding the progress made by DC and then in the next decrying the lack of LGBTQIA’s (did I miss anyone?) at both DC and Marvel… yet a cursory Google yields several examples of gay (enough with the parade of initials, already) characters in the respective DC and Marvel universes… evidently Ms. Hale-Stern needs them to crank out feature films for all these characters since none of their heavy-hitting A-listers have come out of the closet… with the exception of Wonder Woman… just this year DC’s comic book incarnation of Wonder Woman, in their Rebirth Series, made clear that Diana Prince came from an island of Amazon women whose society of women were women who loved women… yet Ms. Hale-Stern won’t be satisfied until DC produces a feature film entitled Wonder Woman vs Batwoman (another out DC character) depicting the two scissoring… well I, for one, won’t pay to see such filth in a movie theater… I’ll wait for a streaming service to pick it up…

so there’s still a lot of work to do, eh?… do we really need to know what’s going on in the Batcave after dark?… what Superman does in his Fortress of Solitude?… these guys can have any woman on the planet and who do they wind up with?… Vicki Vale and Lois Lane… boooooooring!… I certainly don’t care to see Steve Trevor’s hairy ass on the big screen getting violated by Diana Prince… unless it pisses off Ms. Hale-Stern, in which case I’m all for it… her reasoning that we should see superhero gay sex on the big screen is because, and I quote, “Heterosexuality”… she’s not satisfied with, as she puts it, the winks and nods given to alternative lifestyles in feature films… here’s a solution, Ms. Hale-Stern: make your own damn film or write your own damn comic book, and gay that sh:t up to your heart’s content… there’s been a litany of films depicting homosexual stories that have contended and won Oscars for what seems like forever now… we get it… gay people exist… let superheroes be superheroes… and that goes for you, too, DC and Marvel… because I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest the percentage of homosexuals you’ve depicted to date is already on a par with society at large… besides, most of the gays I know that are out don’t care about gay marriage, gays in the military, or gay this and gay that… they’re just normal people who don’t need a parade and can’t relate to the extreme elements that populate these parades any more than Ward and June Cleaver could… and I’m going to go further out on a limb and suggest most of Gay America doesn’t give a crap about Captain America’s sexuality… and why would they when they already have Stars & Garters?…

there have even been rumblings from Big Gay that the next James Bond should be gay, to which I say GTFOH… of
course for some time now the Gay Mafia cramming all this crap into our
media would have you believe you can’t walk out to your mailbox without
stepping on an LGBTLMNOPQ person… this is reflected in the comments
section of The Mary Sue article, all bemoaning the dearth of gayness at DC and
Marvel… they won’t be satisfied until everything is gay… and
    that’s totally gay…

People who draw “comics book heroes” should never try to physically attack Marine veterans.

Marines are trained to kill, often armed, and very good at what they do.

American comics keep getting worse and worse… I never really got into them, I prefer manga more. At least with manga I don’t have to deal with liberal propaganda and politics all the time… but then again I mostly read shoujo and shounen stuff. I don’t go looking for political manga. At least the Japanese know how to keep their genres separate.

    Fascinating stuff.

I’ll tell you a dirty little secret.

Japanese manga have none of the social justice shibboleths of tights-n-capes dinosaur comics. Nada. They outsell and are out-read (e.g. passed around and talked about) Marvel & DC by 2x – 5x

The only thing keeping Marvel and DC competitive, are the movies, and the fact that the manga and anime have to be translated into English.
