Panic On The Streets Of London After Terror Attack

An explosion on a Parsons Green underground train has been confirmed as a “terror-related incident” by Metropolitan Police after several people have been injured.

The improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated on the train during rush hour when hundreds of commuters were using the service, including large numbers of school children, The Metro reports.

The IED, which was placed towards the rear of the train, was created using a white bucket inside of an insulated bag.

The explosion was declared a terror incident this morning by Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the senior national coordinator for counter terrorism.

According to a reporter for The Metro, people were “really, really badly burned,” so much so “their hair was coming off.”

Some people were injured after the explosion as commuters tried to leave the station in a panic, leading to a stampede on one of the stairwells.

“I spoke to a woman, Laura Bishop, who said she was standing there and all of a sudden heard a bang – and saw a wall of flames, flames in the carriage,” said BBC News presenter Sophie Raworth, who was at the scene. “She saw people who had burns on their hair, burns on their head and the doors opened immediately.”

“I have just seen a woman who was just stretchered off here and clearly her legs are wrapped up and she has burns,” Raworth added. “She had burns to her face – she’s conscious, she was taking oxygen and pain relief as well.”

“I thought the train was leaving Parsons Green but then I saw lots of people running up. My first instinct was to get out of the train myself,” said Olaniyi Shokunbi, 24, who had boarded the train. “It’s a small station. There are only two exits and a lot of people were struggling over each other. Some people just jumped over.”

“I thought it was an acid attack. It was early morning and people were drinking coffee and I felt some [liquid] on me and I thought ‘that better not go on my face’,” he added before explaining, “There were people on the floor, there was a little boy, I really felt sorry for him, he couldn’t have been more than 11.”

“He had scratches on his head, he was looking for his little brother. I was going to go back into the train station but a woman said ‘don’t go back in there, there’s people on the floor’,” he said. “There was a woman on the floor. She couldn’t breathe. People were screaming and crying.”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan tweeted out a statement shortly after the attack.

He called the perpetrators of the attack “evil and cowardly,” before explaining 18 people were taken to hospitals across London.

There are currently no verified reports of the perpetrator being apprehended, however, a new filter for Facebook profile pictures is in production.

We’re living thru the same kind of madness that was the Cultural Revolution of Mao and the “Great Terror” of Comrade Stalin- both admirable Leftist leaders, I’m sure you’ll agree…considering that the Left now sees no way of behaving short of violence and advocating the elimination of the white race…I can see no accommodation w/ them. Arm yourself, my friend- all jokes aside, things are going to become Sci-Fi in this country very, very soon…

It’s not about colour – Sikhs, Hindu’s are majority successfully integrated into British life – it’s culture.
