Across American college campuses, leftist lunatic professors are acting in so many insane ways, it’s tough to keep up with all the madness.
At Oregon State University next spring, the college is actually offering a course in “Fat Studies.” Professor Patti Lou-Watkins intends to teach “forms of activism used to counter weightism perpetuated throughout various societal institutions.” Lou-Watkins is, of course, a self-described feminist.
At Grinnell College, a professor named Karla Erickson is offering a class called “American Whiteness” that will focus on “attacking racism by making whiteness visible.” The class syllabus states, “Whiteness is, among much else, a very bad idea,” quoting Kansas University Professor David Roediger. The class will read from texts such as (seriously) “Beyond the Whiteness of Whiteness.” Erickson calls herself a “feminist ethnographer.”
At Wayne State University, professor John Patrick Leary has complained in an op-ed article that a proposed law to punish students repeatedly found guilty of violating the free speech rights of others on campus clearly targets, “student activists…on the left.” Apparently, Leary is aware that leftist students are engaging in harassment and violence to suppress free speech, and his concern is….they might be punished for it.
In June, Harvard Law professor Jeannie Suk Gersen blamed the left’s refusal to engage in civilized debate on “the start of a Presidency that, for many people, stands for bigotry and hate expressed in casual violence.” Writing in The New Yorker, Gersen blamed Trump’s rise for supposed hate crimes that are now largely proven to be hoaxes committed by anti-Trump radicals, including “numerous threats of violence against synagogues and mosques, and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries.” Gersen even linked President Trump’s campaign to a stabbing in Portland – a stabbing she failed to report was committed by a Bernie Sanders supporter – as justification for the left’s refusal to peacefully debate and increasing violence.
Of course, the leftist professors themselves have been found engaging in such violence. Diablo Valley College professor Eric Clanton, arrested for viciously striking a Trump supporter with a bike lock, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing earlier this week. The hearing has been postponed until September 28.
Clanton is the poster boy for modern academia – a masked terrorist willing to use violence once his communist message lost the battle of ideas at the ballot box.
