Politically Correct Adidas Commercial Gets Ripped To Shreds

A new commercial by Adidas shows the word “Indians” on a basketball team’s jersey being taped over, suggesting that it needs to be changed to save people from the politically incorrect horror.

The commercial, titled “Create Positivity,” features a number of high-energy clips of athletes supposedly creating positivity while showing off their Adidas gear.

At one point in the commercial, a narrator can be heard declaring “some teams have started to change their names” as a basketball team covers the “Indians” marking on their jerseys with yellow tape.

See the full clip below.

The commercial has been viewed on YouTube over 650,000 times on YouTube as of writing.

It’s also received a lot of negative feedback.

“Adidas sells out to political correctness…well done,” says one user on YouTube.

“Have fun destroying your band by teaming with the SJW’s. I’ll be purchasing New Balance next time. Bye, Felicia!” said another.

“WTF did I just watch? Other than some teams changing their names, I don’t get it. I know it’s supposed to be a SJW message, but even that failed to come through. I’m less likely to buy adidas now than ever before. His commercial is one big fail,” another person added.

Another wrote, “all I got from this is Adidas doesn’t seem to think white guys play sports.”

“More blatant virtue signalling from corporate America,” complained one user. “They sure love diversity. Except diversity of thought.”

Over on Twitter…

I could care less about organized sports or what team owners chooses to name their teams. On the flip side of this argument though is how fast would the team owners cave if the Cleveland Indians were the Cleveland Arabs or the Washington Redskins were the Washington Blackskins, complete with the caricatures? Most of these team owners will bow to the pc culture at the slightest bit of pushback but take a hard line stance onthis.

Juvenile tactic. You can’t match wits so now try to make it appear that you’re just some happy go lucky person. If your life was so great, you wouldn’t resort to trolling people on the internet because you think that you may disagree with their opinion.

As for Chief Wahoo, the distortion of his proportions are typical of cartoon characters. Compare Notre Dame’s leprechaun or the Minnesota Vikings’ viking.

Seriously though, they’re confident after the SJW-sanctioned poll last year showing 9 out of 10 “redskins” were OK with it – a number I’m certain includes a decent number of people who do think the name is somewhat offensive but can live with it because the Adidases and Washington Posts of the world thinking they have the right to make that decision for them is more offensive.

Who the hell is running some of these companies? Any business person with half a brain should know better than to make politically oriented statements in their advertising or any other public pronouncements. It will ALWAYS result in a loss of customers and potential customers. I quit going to a doctor I used to see regularly because he suddenly started vigorously making his political views known to me during my visits while obviously attempting to discern my own views to see if they meshed with his. This started about six months before last year’s Presidential election. I dropped him soon thereafter.

  33. Edward McKinney Shipp

    July 16, 2017 at 4:42 pm

Did they learn nothing from the fact that one of their fellow SJWs all but destroyed this cause by running a poll which showed 9 OUT OF 10 “offended” people had no problem with the highest-profile “offensive” name (whose merchandise they’re still selling, BTW)?
