Video: Hundreds Show Up To Support Army Reservist Whose Uniform Got Him Barred From High School Graduation

An Army Reservist who was barred from walking at graduation got his own ceremony and personally handed a diploma from the principal.

Hundreds of people showed up to Harlan Fletcher’s personal graduation ceremony after he was kept from walking at his own graduation because he was wearing his military uniform.

Harlan was pulled out of line during graduation for wearing his military uniform due to a dress code policy from the school. The dress code policy, according to Fox and Friends, is being revised. Harlan Fletcher isn’t the only member of the military who wasn’t allowed to walk at graduation. A Marine wasn’t allowed to walk at graduation because he was wearing his uniform and the internet was outraged.

Many people on Twitter supported the young reservist.

What do high schools have against military men wearing their uniforms?

To a liberal educator, masculinity is toxic, and what is more masculine than a military man in uniform?

What’s the point of the military if you don’t believe in national borders?

Actually it’s a bit more than that. Remember the public school system here in America is now a mill for grinding out blanks; all the same, and everyone gets a participation award. No winners, no losers. So a uniform from any branch of the armed services is a mark of individual achievement, and that is something they and the identity politicians can’t have. It’s not that the individual is tying to soak up any hero worship as others have suggested, it is because they earned the right individually to wear that uniform and this the indoctrination team cannot allow in their world of blanks ready for the socialist utopian meat grinder.

If this kid were a liberal, we’d be all over him. What makes him think he has to be “special” on a day that’s meant to honor academic achievement – not military service? I thoroughly enjoyed the Facebook comments from members of the military. I don’t know military protocol, but apparently this kid is in for a rough ride when he gets back in front of his superiors.

When I initially read the headline, I felt uncomfortable ….. conservatives follow the rules, so why was Milo defending this kid’s actions? Conservatives oppose ILLEGAL immigration because it’s against the law. Why should we then turn around and applaud a kid who decides he wants to bend some rules just so he can look extra awesome? I don’t care if California says it’s okay to wear your uniform to graduation. It’s unseemly.

I was so encouraged by the comments from actual servicemen and women. They were certainly not impressed by this kid and his snowflake mentality. It’s one thing to be proud of the uniform (he should be). It’s another thing to go against military protocol (uniform of the day) and demand special treatment. I’m so proud of our military for being strong, honorable, dependable – without demanding attention.

THDisqus: Your understanding of ‘conservative’ is radically different from my own. And I dare say from that of millions who so describe themselves.

I won’t speak for the others, only for myself: Being conservative isn’t about ”follow[ing] the rules.” It’s about a certain standard for what is and isn’t right in human conduct. Using your example, a conservative could oppose the immigration in question regardless of its legality — he’ll just be doubly upset by a government violating laws to allow bad policy.

So a conservative can think this young man isn’t being a bad serviceman because he took a stand against rules he didn’t like.

Not offending snowflakes is the number one job of educators?
Tolerance and inclusion is a lefty thing?
Just more lefty gut-felt hate masquerading as actual thinking and reasoning.

I say to you, I definitely get irked whilst other people think about issues that they just do not recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , other folks can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks!
