Clint Eastwood Slams Political Correctness At Cannes Film Festival

Clint Eastwood, who is 86, said Dirty Harry would not be produced today due to political correctness.

Although Eastwood did not touch on current political events, he did talk about political correctness while talking about one of his most famous movies, Dirty Harry.

“A lot of people thought it was politically incorrect,” Eastwood said while talking about the movie. “That was at the beginning of the era that we’re in now, where everybody thinks everyone’s politically correct. We’re killing ourselves by doing that. We’ve lost our sense of humor.”

“If you have good luck with your instincts, you might as well trust them,’ he said. ‘It’s an emotional art form. It’s not an intellectual art form at all.”

This isn’t the first time Eastwood has talked about political correctness.

“We’re really in a pussy generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells, ” he said in the past. “We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff.”

“When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist. Secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up.”

During a speech he made at the RNC in 2012, Eastwood questioned an empty chair that he used to depict President Obama.

Ahhh the 2012 RNC… I was still watching the daily show back in those days. I watched Jon Stewart make fun of Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair and had a good laugh. I knew Jon was left leaning but I suppose over the years he went even further and further left and eventually I stopped watching that show all together. Truth is Obama deserved to be roasted that night.

Love him. And Adam Sandler, who awed the Cannes effete by his total wonderfulness.

Eastwood is the man! I love wearing this shirt out in public… it causes quite a bit of triggering. I love it! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cfed172e94c524adfb12e48a2a976e39f546eec669c90c7890e39ebd8b1b9648.gif

I like Eastwood but have you listened to Right Wing Radio in the past twenty years? I hardly think they’re pussies who are walking on eggshells. –D
