Shortly after the Republican nominee left the podium, several police officers handcuffed a man and led him backstage, where he is currently being held by heavily armed guards.

Officers have yet to confirm that the man did, in fact, have a gun and intended to harm Trump.
Witnesses say it was audience members who first identified the man as a threat.
Five to six Trump supporters jumped on the man. It was when he was on the ground, witnesses said, that there were shouts of "he's got a gun"

Several minutes after being rushed offstage, Donald Trump returned to finish his speech.
“Nobody said it was going to be easy for us,” he declared. “But we will never be stopped.”
Trump went on to thank both the Secret Service and the audience members near the suspect for their bravery.
Meanwhile on planet Clinton, the Democratic nominee also had a rally unexpectedly interrupted today. But it wasn’t a gunman that cut Hillary off – it was rain.

Secret Service members traveling with Trump have reason to be cautious.
The rate of violence against the Republican nominee and his supporters has been on the rise as of late as Trump steadily eats away at Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning come Tuesday.
The Democratic candidate has been hit hard with news of two high-profile FBI investigations into her dealings as Secretary of State.
That news saw her rank in mainstream polls drop significantly. One third of all likely voters reported that the news of Clinton being investigated by the bureau made them less likely to vote for her.
Today, Clinton also lost one major campaign talking point as she can no longer accuse Trump of raping a child; that particular lawsuit has vanished.
Update: 10:12 PM
Donald Trump’s campaign has released a full statement following the incident at tonight’s rally in Reno. It reads:
“I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response. I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us – we will make America great again!””
